Hospice of Philadelphia is the only non-profit, community based hospice program servicing Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.

Hospice of Philadelphia provides a special kind of care for dying people, their families and their caregivers that treat the physical, the emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.

Hospice is a coordinated program of services that enables persons with serious, progressive illness to live fully and comfortably in their own homes. Persons who live in a nursing home or an assisted living facility can also receive hospice services.

Hospice care is about living each day to the fullest. A patient’s daughter remarked,

“My father’s primary nurse was extraordinary. She explained everything that was happening, his breathing, his movements, what was going to happen next, she left nothing unanswered. Hospice and Debbie (our primary nurse) made it possible for me to tell my father the things I wanted and needed to tell him. I can’t thank you and your staff enough for all your help through a very difficult time.”
